Claire Marshall – Feature writer
I do indeed love food, but I write about all sorts of other subjects. Formerly a news journalist I have cut myself free and now write mainly for magazines.
Some of my work includes:
See my bi-monthly Novice Kitchen Gardener Column, a light-hearted look into my two year adventures in vegetable gardening, with plenty of tips for novices and growers with small spaces.
Plus features including smallholding courses in Gloucestershire, the best food apps on the market and an interview with food writer Josceline Dimbleby.
A regional lifestyle magazine based in Gloucestershire. Restaurant reviews, human interest features, book reviews and fashion.
If you think you have a great restaurant/hotel/spa or activity or business that would make a good feature for Cotswold Essence, email me on firstname.lastname@example.org
Lifestyle feature writing for this award-winning online newspaper.
Food4two the blog – what’s the big idea?
Food4two does exactly what it says on the can – food and recipes for two people. Cookery books are full of recipes that ‘feed 4-6’ and sometimes these don’t divide down well to serve two. My recipes are devised or revised to feed two adults (two hungry adults with decent appetites actually).
I am passionate about seasonal food, I ‘grow my own’ in a veg patch in my garden and I love to eat out when I get the chance. My partner is the other person behind Food4two – I cook the food and he eats it (plus does the washing up). It’s worked well for the last six years, though I regret to say I have allowed this capable and intelligent man get away with being completely useless in the kitchen – being only able to boil eggs for his breakfast or reheat meals in the microwave. I will one day get round to teaching him how to cook.
